Terms of Service

1. What this is

Quackbolt is an independent file hosting service run by one person. You get personal storage space, file sharing tools, and optional paid plans with more room and features. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done with your account. One account per person for the free tier. We may suspend accounts that are clearly abusive, automated, or used to dodge limits.

3. Acceptable use

Do not store or share anything illegal in France, the EU, or your own country. That includes pirated content, malware, phishing kits, stolen data, CSAM, and content that incites violence. Paid or free, the rules are the same.

4. Content checks and malware scanning

To keep the service safe and legal, we are allowed to run regular automated checks over stored files for illegal content and malware, using scanning software of our choice. If a file is flagged, we may quarantine or permanently delete it without warning, suspend the account involved, and where the law requires it, report the matter to the relevant authorities. False positives happen with automated tools. If you believe we removed something by mistake, contact us and a human will review it.

5. Plans and payment

Paid plans are one time payments for the stated storage and features, not subscriptions. Prices are shown before checkout. Refunds are handled case by case. If a paid plan expires, your files may be trimmed back to the free quota, oldest uploads first where technically possible.

6. Availability

This is a small independent service, not a cloud giant. We aim for high availability but give no uptime guarantee. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Maintenance windows are announced when practical.

7. Privacy

We collect the minimum needed to run accounts: your username, email, phone number, files, and basic operational logs. No trackers, no ads, no sale of personal data. Verification and password reset emails come from our own mail server. Account deletion on request removes your files and personal data, subject to legal retention duties.

8. Termination

You can stop using Quackbolt anytime and ask for deletion. We can suspend or delete accounts that break these terms, with files removed as described in section 4 where applicable.

9. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for lost files, downtime, or indirect damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

10. Changes

Terms may change as the service grows. Continued use after changes take effect counts as acceptance. Big changes will be announced on the homepage.
